I’m Anca Buzatu, a native Romanian translator and interpreter with a passion for languages and a commitment to providing top-notch services. My journey in the world of languages began early, driven by a fascination with their rich cultural tapestry. From learning German and English in primary school to pursuing advanced studies and professional experiences, my path has been deeply rooted in linguistic excellence.
Why translation and interpreting?
My enthusiasm for languages was ignited during my school years, where I was captivated by the complexity and beauty of German and English. This passion guided my educational choices, leading me to transfer to a prestigious language-focused high school in Constanța. I further honed my skills at the Faculty of Philology at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, where I earned a degree in Modern Applied Languages in 2007. My academic journey was enriched by an Erasmus-Socrates scholarship, which allowed me to study in Chemnitz, Germany, and by a valuable internship at the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Parliament in Luxembourg.
Professional experience
Since 2010, I have been working as a translator and interpreter. My career began with a five-year tenure at a renowned Austrian sports betting company in Linz, where I translated a wide range of materials including newsletters, news reports, and legal documents. My professional journey continued with roles in startups and organizations, such as a GPS tracking company and an association supporting immigrants in Linz.
Since April 2022, I have been dedicated exclusively to my freelance translation and interpreting practice. This transition has allowed me to leverage my extensive experience and offer specialized services in legal, marketing, and IT & technical fields.
My approach
My approach to translation begins with a thorough understanding of the source text, including its content, style, and target audience. I draft an initial translation, refine it through multiple revisions, and ensure that the final product is natural and accurate. My commitment to high-quality results means that I allocate ample time for research and revisions to deliver translations that meet your expectations.
